“I love that we are now having conversations about chucking a bottle of red in the esky and drinking it down at the beach. If you mentioned this ten years ago, people would have given you strange looks! Obviously, this doesn’t work for all red wines. Our lighter style reds are picked earlier for fresher flavours (and lower alcohol), and we limit tannin extraction during fermentation so that the wine is built more around acidity than structure. I enjoy drinking chilled reds a little too cold, then seeing it open up and evolve and it warms up in the glass. Typically, an hour in the fridge is all you need to add freshness to a light red.”

2023 Golden Child Lazy Sunday Light Red
A blend of Pinot and Syrah. You get the vibrant red fruit and acidity from the Pinot component and the early picked Syrah contributes intense red currant and peppery vibes.
2022 Golden Child Manic Monday Pinot Noir
A light, supple style of Pinot. It’s super aromatic with pretty red fruits and thirst-quenching natural acidity.

2022 In Praise of Shadows ‘Yabai’
An artful blend of Tempranillo and Grenache that invokes sense memories of the streets in Porto or Lisbon.
2022 In Praise of Shadows ‘Mankai’
A blend of Touriga, Graciano & Grenache.
“It’s juicy, quite purple in flavour, a bit stony and ‘mineral’ in feel, dried roses and raspberry jubes, fresh, Earl Gray tea, crushed boysenberry, with grainy tannin, and potpourri perfume to close. Such a good wine. So much character, and beautifully made too. Recommended.”

2022/23 Kalleske Parallax
Aromatically bright and fresh. Super-inviting notes of flower garden, crushed raspberry, white pepper spice, strawberry, red liquorice and thyme. Superbly juicy, oozing with crunchy fresh red fruits.
Cherry, strawberry and a touch of herb.
2023 Sherrah Preservative Free Grenache
“This is a juicy little sucker if ever there was one. The flavour profile is sweet, raspberried and jubey but there herbal twists and a sand-like dryness to the finish. It works well. It’s super fresh and frisky and would work equally well with/without a chill.”

Marsanne and Malbec fermented together in tank on skins for a week then pressed to tank. Yarra merlot and pinot vinified separately in old oak. All 4 blended together prior to bottling. Bright and juicy fruited with crunchy acid. Great chilled!
2022 Patch Wines Barbera
A single tonne of fruit, whole berry fermented and pressed to old oak barriques. Aromas of dark cherries, plums and brambles with appealing juicy light tannins. Bottled without fining or filtration.

2023 Spring Vale
