“Bowerbirds collect things that they find beautiful or curious to share with others. I have a desire to create a small collection of well-made wines driven by intuition and feel as much as science.
I hope that the wines I create and collect can bring people and friends together and give pleasure in the sharing.”
Kirilly Gordon – Winemaker

Kirilly grew up in the Macedon Ranges. Whilst studying Agricultural Science at the University of Melbourne, a work experience job with the inspirational Bill Dhillon was a turning point for her. She gained an amazing mentor in life and found a passion for nurturing vines to grow grapes for wine. A number of years later in 2016 with two young boys and a second degree in Wine Science from Charles Sturt University, Bowerbird Wines was born.

2022 Viognier
This wine sits in the white nectarine aroma spectrum with delicately fragrant jasmine and boronia. There is good acid balance punctuating the richer pallet tendency of Viognier.
2021 Syrah
Deep, bright ruby in colour, the nose is of dark red fruits – morello cherries and mulberries. The French oak is well integrated adding lovely mocha, spicy roundness. The palate is soft and generous, medium bodied with the fine glossy tannins making this a very approachable wine.
2021 Nebbiolo
“Malakoff Vineyard grows the grapes for this wine. A lighter, charismatic and refreshing expression of nebbiolo set closer to rose than structured red wine but not missing the fine tannin sheath or tart, bright acidity of the variety, nor escaping tart red cherry fruit, dried herb, pepper and cranberry tang and dryness. It’s wonderful. So delicious, fine and fresh. Wonderful drink.”
