“I am connected to the land, working with wonderful growers and people across the wine industry, seeking to make delicious wines that speak of a time and a place and perhaps make great company for a story among friends and family.”

2022 ‘Vox Pop’ Sparkling
Pinot Noir

VOX POP is more than just a Sparkling Pinot Noir from the Adelaide Hills. Vox Pop is a platform for discussion, debate, fun times and reflection.

Pale blush in the glass and light and fleeting on the nose.  It has flavours of strawberries and cream, succulent orange, mandarin and a zesty finish.

2022 ‘Mankai’
Touriga Graciano Grenache

“Ripe raspberry, blueberry, violet, ozone and ironstone, spice. It’s juicy, quite purple in flavour, a bit stony and ‘mineral’ in feel, dried roses and raspberry jubes, fresh, Earl Gray tea, crushed boysenberry, with grainy tannin, and potpourri perfume to close. Such a good wine. So much character, and beautifully made too. Recommended.”

Gary Walsh-The Wine Front

“A blend of Grenache (aka here as Garnacha) with Monastrell (aka Mataro), Touriga and Graciano in a bright and energetic style, fruit-driven with mouthwatering acidity and memorable flavour. Moreish beyond comprehension.”

2022 Grenache

“From Jericho and Springs Hill in Blewitt Springs, and Smart in Clarendon.

Bright and frisky, strawberry, fresh raspberry, mint and aniseed. Medium-bodied at most, cranberry acidity, a lot of energy, dusty peppery tannin, maybe at the expense of concentration, but gee it’s a lively and good wine to drink. Bright, tight, and very frisky. Great drinking.”

2019 ‘Lusco Fusco’ Touriga Graciano

“Some light reduction here with a bright, brash and impressively juicy delivery of blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry. The palate is all blue fruits and smooth, vivid texture. Just delicious. A blend of touriga and graciano. Drink now. Screw cap.”

2022 Shiraz

“This is a smoky, delicious and unashamedly hedonistic sort of shiraz that’s skilfully paired back into a mould of spicy, lifted freshness. Notes of barbecued baby back ribs, charcuterie and porcini dashi are muddled with lilac, dried lavender, nori, cloves, pepper grind and purple pastilles. Loosely knit yet refined, with just enough tension to give poise and accessible delivery. Drink now. Screw cap.”

2021 ‘Komorebi’ Grenache

“Hand-picked across the venerable Smart vineyard, an elevated site of old vines and considerable pedigree in Clarendon. The result reflects an early picking window at which point, grenache, a late ripener, is challenged. Pretty aromas of ume, cranberries, mashed strawberries, Seville oranges and rose hip tea. The intention to craft a fragrant, detailed and fresher style is palpable. However, while the acidity is crunchy, the tannins are wiry and astringent, backed by an underlying greenness. Prosaic. The second day open is far better than the first, and I score with the benefit of the doubt in mind. Drink now. Screw cap.”

“This is from the Smart Vineyard in Clarendon, from a block planted in 1971.Exotic spice and perfume, cherry and raspberry, cocoa, bergamot. It’s medium-bodied, fine and red fruited, with a fine pumice stone feel to tannin, succulence of strawberry and spice, cool acidity, delicate and lacy, all the sweet almond and fine tannin grip on a very long fresh finish.
Texture is super, all dusty and brightly lit. So lovely, and beautifully made.”

Gary Walsh – The Wine Front

“The beautiful and vivid 2021 ‘Komorebi’ is seriously impressive as it delivers intense yet delightfully subtle red cherry and fruit pastille aromas with tobacco and spice touches in a poised, focused package. Beautifully expressive, a profound core of fruit flavours is youthful and tightly bound. Finely tuned tannins support vivid flavours through to an incredibly long and sustained finish. So complete and will unfurl over at least 10 years.”
