The new ‘Freewill’ labels come from the ancient Japanese marbling technique called ‘Suminagashi’… unimpeded and whimsical in allowing nature to determine the outcome. Like Suminagashi, the Freewill series allow nature to determine the outcome of the wines.
Wines of minimal intervention that reflect their sense of place, fruit driven with energy and character to reflect the ‘Spirit of the Season’ and a sense of freedom.

2021 ‘Sakura’ Rosé
(Sangiovese, Grenache)
“Discreet style, offering a little perfume, red cherry and blood orange. It’s dry, with a fine chalky texture and dry feel, a little bit savoury, but fresh and long too. Nicely done. Proper rosé here, and very good.”

2021 ‘Mankai’
(Garnacha, Monastrell,
Touriga, Graciano)
“So much ozone, or petrichor, here, which is so appealing. Red berries, a little liquorice and spice. Medium-bodied, at most, fresh and crisp, slightly earthy, hazelnuts, spiced poached strawberry and red cherry, emery board tannin, a distinct ‘mineral’ feel, and a cool spicy/savoury finish of brightness and excellent length.
So individual. So energetic.
Outstanding. Get amongst it.”
