Borne from various biodynamic barrel projects and trials using the biodynamic calendar, the Divergent range has emerged.
The Divergent range represents traditional varietals viewed through a new lens. Guided under the tutelage of generations of vineyard knowledge and wine making knowhow to create vibrant new interpretations. Looking forwards and backwards simultaneously, while blending tradition and innovation.
Our Divergent Genre is where we ‘play’ either in the vineyard or at the winery to give a different, somewhat offbeat, but focused interpretation of a traditional variety or style. This genre consists of four wines all with their own signature style that showcases the variety in a different way to the norm.”

2023 Plenarius Viognier
‘Orange Wine’
Plenarius: full; complete, entire, absolute.
Nothing added; nothing taken away.
Plenarius Viognier… 100% Viognier Grapes. Wild fermented completely on skin. Matured in hogsheads, bottled unfined & unfiltered. Naturally cloudy and amber in colour. no added sulphites.
Notes of honeysuckle, tropical fruit juice, honey, dried apricots, lemongrass, perfume, and a nuance of cream sherry. The inherent ‘sweet’ oily fruits of Viognier give the wine a luscious pseudo sweetness. This is balanced with chalky skin phenolics adding a cleansing dryness. The natural acidity is in check, perfectly adequate to add a bright edge. Richly flavoured, very drinkable!
2023 Congruous
Chenin Blanc Semillon
Congruous: marked or enhanced by harmonious agreement among constituent elements. Appropriate or fitting.

2023 Parallax Grenache
Parallax: Parallax is when an object appears to change its position because the person or instrument perceiving it has changed their
position.
Parallax Grenache… the object is the same, Grenache… but the winery perceiving it has changed their position… hence the emergence of a neoteric expression of this classic old vine Barossa varietal.
“The enjoyment factor of this wine is right up there. It’s light and frisky but dry and grapey too. It’s raspberried, rusty, briney, minerally, earthen, nutty and floral. It really is all those things. And it finishes with a dry version of more-ishness; as a result it begs for food in the best of ways. Big fan here.”

Zeitgeist Shiraz… Diverse selection of Shiraz from Kalleske farm… untouched by time, oak or non-grape additives… capturing the spirit and character of vintage 2023.
“Inky purple/magenta in the glass with fruit notes of blueberry, boysenberry and plum compote along with hints of baking spices, grilled figs, blackberry jam, jasmine, raisins, turned earth, ‘Old Jamaican’ chocolate and olive tapenade. Big, ripe and pure, there’s a riot of spice, blue fruits and purple floral tones on the palate, beefy around the shoulders with gentle tannin grip.”
