Mars Whisky is one of our premium whisky brands, and its Shinshu Distillery was built in the Nagano prefecture and run by Mr Kiichiro Iwai. Iwai was responsible for the design of their pot stills and is considered a pioneer in the history and development of pot still whisky in Japan. He is one of only four Japanese individuals listed in the Top 100 Most Influential People in the history of whisky making in the world.
Mars Whisky opened their 2nd distillery in the Kagoshima prefecture – Tsunuki Distillery in 2017, and also has an ageing facility on the island called Yakushima which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. While Mars Whisky is considered one of the Top 3 Japanese whisky brands, they are still extraordinarily humble and call themselves artisan whisky makers. We love their gentle, smooth and clean sweet style of whisky.

Ripe fruits such as persimmon, apricot and orange marmalade are evident on the nose. The palate is smooth with a soft mouth feel with flavour of quince, melon and sweet creamy milk. Long and clean finish. Whisky maker’s suggestion is to serve with little amount of water to enjoy the complex flavour.

Whisky aged in sherry casks and American white oak makes up the expression of this whisky.
Ripe prune, sweet acacia honey and vanilla on the nose and initial orange flavour on the palate followed by the soft bitterness of cacao with a soft mouthfeel. Long and clean finish with lingering elegant sweetness.

Ripe fruits note such as quince, apricot, and banana, and vanilla on the nose.
The palate shows the sweetness of honey, melon, and ripe persimmon fruits, also the hazelnut character from Sherry cask. Smooth and elegant finish.
Mars Tsunuki Single Malt 2022
On the nose, fresh sweetness such as lemon cake, black tea, and a whiff of smoke at first, followed by cacao, azuki beans, butter toast, and milk candy. Bitter and sweet fruitiness like Orangette on the palate, and finish is long and complex with generous sweetness.
Mars Tsunuki ‘The Peated’ Single Malt 2020
This single malt was matured in bourbon barrels and is a showcase of peat character. It has shiny amber colour as a sign of age. The nose shows sweet scents like banana, honey and custard with gorgeous peat smokiness. Clean warm textured mouthfeel is followed by barley and crisp apple, and the finish is long and complex with peat and hints of yellow fruits.

Wine Cask Finish 2021
This is Mars Komagatake Single Malt ‘Wine Cask Finish’ was produced in collaboration with Voyager Estate from the famous Margaret River region located in Western Australia.
Only 924 bottles have been produced. This is the 2nd collaboration and this special whisky is sold only in Australia and Japan.
Elegant smooth mouthfeel with grape fruit character. The finish is long, viscous umami, and well balanced with sweetness.
