2023 Tempranillo Rosé
Certified Organic
“The Tempranillo Rosé represents the rosé that we want to make, rather than the rosé we have to make! Our single block of tempranillo (planted in 2017 specifically for rosé) will largely be allocated to this wine now. We maintained a denser canopy this year and did two fruit thinning passes to even out ripening. Pressed cold, then full solids to old puncheons for ferment and a short maturation on lees. We built a nice texture and phenolic bite in the press. It’s dry and savoury in style, but with significant fruit pedigree and freshness. Hopefully a rosé for people looking for interest and complexity as well as refreshment.”

2023 Vivid Red
Certified Organic
Preservative Free
“Vivid Red is 80% whole bunch and produced with no added sulphites. It’s a blend of shiraz, grenache, tempranillo and a touch of merlot, all off the estate vineyard and organic certified. Unfined and vegan friendly!
The cab mac whole bunch, the varieties in the mix and a mild 2023 vintage have created a wine of bright, bold fruit that remains light on its feet. With the temperate Margaret River climate and the big tannin profile of reds from here it was only a hypothesis back at harvest that we could pull off such a wine, so it’s really pleasing to see the end product fit the brief for a juicy (but still serious) red. The main story however is the wine’s preservative free status. We are blessed with pristine fruit from the meticulously managed vineyard here, and that allows us a lot of freedom to push the limits. I regularly hear concerns from consumers around preservatives, but to be honest my motivation in making this wine is the purity and rawness of the fruit, the immediate expression of the vineyard and vintage, that bottling preservative free can give. Coupled with its organic and vegan friendly status, this seems a wine made for the times. The vivacity and rawness of the 2023 vintage is what I want drinkers to experience.”
