Andrew Cameron and Peter Crannage first met in 1997 while playing pivotal roles in establishing a new fine wine distribution company on Australia’s east coast. They quickly discovered they had followed remarkably similar paths in both sport and business, forming a strong partnership and friendship that continues today.

After successfully building the business, they sold it in 2004 and remained at the helm until May 2007. That same year, they realised their long-held ambition of creating Déjà Vu Wine Co., selling their first case of wine in September 2007.

From the outset, Déjà Vu Wine Co. has been guided by a simple philosophy: to work with passionate, like-minded people who share the same values. This approach has shaped every aspect of the business—from its team and producer partners to its customers. Over the years, the portfolio has been thoughtfully curated to remain balanced, relevant, and highly desirable across all sectors of the Australian wine market.

Recognising the close connection between wine and Japan’s national beverage, Déjà Vu expanded into Japanese sake imports in 2012. Today, the company represents more than 85 producers from around the world, offering an exceptional portfolio of fine wine, sake, whisky and gin.

Following Peter Crannage’s retirement, Sophie Carbonneau joined Déjà Vu Wine Co. as National Sales Manager in 2026. A former Len Evans Scholar, Sophie brings more than 20 years of experience in the Australian wine industry. Prior to joining Déjà Vu, she spent 12 years as National Sales & Education Manager and Senior Buyer for a respected national importer and distributor, adding significant expertise to the company’s leadership team.
