Originally The Pass began as a necessary path comprised of bridle tracks along with ferries allowing rivers to be crossed.
Today The Pass is a stretch of modern highway that runs over the mountains between the two valleys.
Its beautiful vistas include abundant thick forests interspersed with densely stocked sheep farms. No matter where you travel, The Pass is a beautiful journey that leads to discovery, adventure and world-class wines.
The Pass connects Marlborough’s Wairau and Awatere winegrowing valleys. Fruit is carefully selected from both valleys to showcase the best
flavour characteristics of the region, through the wines.
2022 Pinot Gris
Central Otago
A vibrant, juicy Pinot Gris with notes of kumquat, ripe stone fruit,
jasmine and fresh green pear on the nose.
A lovely line of red delicious apple runs
through the palate complemented by
yellow peach and nectarine.
The mid-palate is silky and full bodied,
with a hint of spice on the finish.
2022 Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough
Fruit from the Wairau Valley brings lifted aromatics and
the Awatere brings an attractive mineral note.
The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc is a distinctly Marlborough
Sauvignon Blanc, vibrant and punchy. Aromas of
gooseberry and citrus lead the way with delicate
tropical and herbaceous notes sitting the background.
The palate is naturally balanced, crisp and lively. Driven
by flavours of tropical fruits, citrus and minerality that
hang off an elegant acid line giving the wine length and
energy.

The Pass Pinot Noir showcases the picturesque
vineyards of New Zealand’s Marlborough winegrowing
region. Special parcels from this celebrated region are
selected to create a soft, ripe velvety wine with flavours
of bright berry fruit and a touch of spice.
The 2022 Pinot Noir has bright red fruit with supporting
savoury and spice notes. Aromas of bright red fruits carry
to the palate which is juicy and generous with hints of
spice and elegant tannin giving the wine structure.
