Christos Zafeirakis is a fourth generation winemaker. Today he presides over 8 hectares of carefully tended organic vines.
“Christos Zafeirakis is making beautiful, organic wines at Domaine Zafeirakis in Thessaly, near the foothills of Mount Olympus… All across Greece winemakers are producing impressive rosé wines, but the Zafeirakis Rosé from local limniona grapes is a stand-out, with aromas of sherbet and minerality in the mouth. Rare limniona grapes is definitely the breakout grape for Christos, and one of his most considered wines (from a comprehensive list) is the Zafeirakis Limniona.”
Christos is considered one of the pioneering Greek winemakers and is widely credited with reviving the indigenous variety of Limniona, creating world class, elegant, fine wines…
“Love, Knowledge, and Respect to Tradition are the core elements for the creation of our wines as our goal is to deliver the expression of our vineyards, its aromas and flavor in your glass”
2022 Limniona Rose
“Christos Zafeirakis is one of the dynamic growers and producers supplying great energy to modern Greek wine culture. This bottle, a rosé made of the limniona grape, which Mr Zafeirakis practically resurrected from oblivion, is a great example of the Zafeirakis style. It’s fruity, herbal and unexpectedly complex for a rosé.”

NV ‘Prologue’ Sparkling Rose
The new release from Christos Zafeirakis is Prologue, a sparkling rosé wine that is made with the traditional method and is a blend of the Limniona and Assyrtiko varieties.
Light, soft pink color with good foaming in the glass. In the nose, we find a combination of red and citrus fruits, and flowers, accompanied by the characteristic aromas of dough and nuts. On the palate, it has a soft, creamy character, with lively bubbles and cooling acidity.
In the end, we have a wonderful, long-lasting aftertaste.
