This course offers a comprehensive introduction to sake for both enthusiasts and industry professionals. Through guided tastings and expert instruction, participants will explore the key styles and categories of sake while developing their understanding of the factors that influence aroma, flavour, and quality.
The WSET Level 2 Award in Sake builds upon introductory concepts while offering a deeper exploration of:
· Sake categories, grades, and speciality styles
· Key production methods and brewing decisions
· Professional tasting techniques
· Food pairing and service considerations
Students will taste a significantly wider range of sake samples and gain a stronger foundation in sake knowledge suitable for hospitality, retail, wholesale, and customer service roles, as well as personal enrichment.
No prior knowledge is required to enrol in the WSET Level 2 Award in Sake. Beginners are welcome, while those who find Level 1 too introductory may begin directly at Level 2.
Participants are encouraged to undertake private study and take responsibility for their own learning throughout the course.
Upon successful completion, students will receive the official WSET Level 2 Award in Sake certificate and lapel pin.
